On the reformer we will build a solid foundation and a strong stable body. Our instructors can easily adapt exercises to assist with injuries.

Rehab Pilates

(formally known as Equipment Pilates)

Run by Physiotherapists, these classes focus on traditional pilates exercises performed on a variety of pilates equipment, including the reformer, ladder barrel, trapeze table, wunda-chair or mat. Each client is assessed by a Physiotherapist and has an individualised program set out to ensure correct technique and goals are met. Pilates sessions can be either one on one (private), duet orin a small group of four clients per instructor.

These classes include elements of conditioning, strength and balance challenges and of course core stability training. It is designed for those at any level looking to expand their pilates experience and expertise within a small group environment.

If you have no pilates experience prior to joining an equipment session, a private session will be required to familiarise yourself with the basic principals of movement, as well as the machine. Please book your Initial Pilates Consult here.

At our studio, we warmly welcome our prenatal clients to join any of our diverse classes, whether it's equipment-based, reformer sessions, or mat exercises. Our ethos is centered around embracing individuals at every stage of their journey, ensuring everyone feels supported and included.

Clinical Pilates with a physiotherapist entitles you to claim your sessions under "Physiotherapy" with your private health fund. At Body Align Physio we offer HICAPS for these on-the-spot claims. Please check with your fund for more details.

Group Physiotherapy

Body Align Physio is pleased to announce physiotherapist-led small group strength classes, specifically designed to enhance bone health, overall strength, pelvic floor and core integrity, balance, and confidence.

Classes incorporate free weights, barbells, bands, and steps, and are accessible for individuals of all abilities. No previous weight training experience is required, as our physiotherapists will provide guidance throughout each session.

 Who are these classes for?

For those interested in weight training or seeking to improve fitness, energy levels, and well-being, these classes offer comprehensive instruction in the fundamentals of strength training and functional fitness. Programs are thoughtfully developed by our physiotherapists, with class sizes intentionally limited to facilitate individualised support.

All small group classes are led by qualified physiotherapists and grounded in evidence-based practice, making them eligible for claims under the Physiotherapy allowance of private health insurance. Please consult your health fund for additional information.

What is involved?

1) Prior to booking, participants undergo an assessment with one of our physiotherapists to identify any relevant history or concerns. During this review, an external abdominal ultrasound may be utilised to teach effective activation of pelvic floor and deep abdominal muscles, ensuring optimal exercise outcomes. For continued eligibility to claim classes through private health insurance, annual assessments in clinic are required.

2) Physiotherapists will recommend placement in one to two classes (45minuted duration) per week per term; attending two sessions weekly is recommended for improved strength and long-term benefits.

3) Your progress is monitored closely, with reassessments conducted monthly and your training adapted accordingly. We include specific strength tests and outcome measures in our reassessments.
